About Us > Andrew Bass
Andrew is co-founder of BassClusker Consulting, assisting companies in aligning the behaviour of their people with the strategy of the business. Clients include leading professional service firms and ambitious growing businesses. As well as working throughout the UK, Andrew has experience in Europe and the CIS.
Before founding BassClusker, Andrew lectured at Aston Business School, where he was director of the Psychology & Management programme, and worked in the areas of organisational culture, change and training design. He left the Business School in 2000 in order to apply his work to client issues, and has continued to contribute to the school's MBA programme. In addition to numerous scholarly and conference papers, Andrew has had articles published in Career Development International, Legal Week and Managing Partner magazine.
Andrew started his career at BT Labs Human Factors Division, and has a doctorate in Software Engineering from the University of Aston.
Andrew is an entertaining and engaging speaker who has the ability to cut through jargon and buzzwords, thereby clarifying those ideas and opportunities which can make a real difference to clients.
One of Andrew's key strengths is his ability to translate solid theory into practical action steps. He finds NLP coaching and methods to be invaluable tools for this, and is a licensed trainer and master practitioner in the Society of NLP.
Outside his client work, Andrew serves on the Midlands regional leadership team of Fairbridge, a charity supporting inner city youth, is long-standing training and education advisor to the Dyslexia Advice and Resource Centre, and is programme facilitator for the Birmingham Forward Mentoring Scheme.
As well as supporting others' endeavours, he also enjoys new challenges himself - one of his most recent (with mixed success!) was an excursion into the world of stand-up comedy.
